INTRA-DAY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TODAY…
A US slowdown will reduce demand for global raw materials and oil.
After rate cuts amounting to 100bps within 80 days, there's always the fear in America that
higher consumer spend on the back of cheaper money will increase inflation.
That's because producers and retailers tend to hike prices when they see heightened
demand (which demand rises because of lowered rates).
If consumer prices rise due to all the above, then inflation rises and that makes all think the
Fed needn't cut any more.
Their initial assumption on 18th September was that rate cuts will spur demand.
It's doing that, but always at the cost of rising inflation.
If the Fed do not cut any more on 30th January, then the dollar will rise.
It's done that somewhat this morning.
A recovering-dollar drives all other currencies to weaken.
Weak rupee, exit of monies from the country.
Weak stocks, naturally.
>Expect another day like yesterday when the excitement will go missing in the broader
indices.
All the action will stay in punting-stocks, in cash shares, and a couple of A Group stocks.
Like alwayas, day punters will come and overdo the volumes in IFCI or some Z category
stocks.
Don't expect much play in the indices today.
Infact, the Nifty could only get even more weak.
It'll open weak, mirroring the Far East.
But from there, one needs to wait for intraday news.
